Once again, Art on the Commons is my only outdoor art show this year. I will have a double booth — twice as much space — and new paintings. I will also be clearing out some discontinued reproductions at savings up to 80% off their original prices. My booth numbers are 55 and 56, the same as last year’s location at the northeast corner of Lincoln Park Blvd West and Commons Blvd, close to the Christ United Methodist Church parking lot entrance. Food, music — and art! The Fourth Annual Art at the Trace will be held at The Golf Club at Yankee Trace in the main ballroom on Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 6-9 p.m. This elegant event features the work of 24 fine artists set to the backdrop of live musical entertainment, gourmet appetizers, desserts and a cash bar in a country club setting. Local and nationally known artists exhibit and display their work for sale in a variety of mediums from painting, photography, sculptures, pottery, jewelry and more. All ticket holders will be entered in a raffle drawing. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door and may be purchased at the City of Centerville Municipal Building, Golf Shop at Yankee Trace, Centerville Framing and Gifts and Wasson Music Center.

My new painting, Sparks, is on display in the front of the gallery and was described by Dayton Daily News writer, Pam Dillon, as a “beautifully crafted, totally unpolitical work” in her review of the exhibit.
